ReplyDeletenot all ripoffs are a bad thing, if you've read walk this way or any other aerosmith (auto)biography you'll read steven directly saying with not an apology at all that he stole the mama kin riff from a blodwyn pig song and how he snagged whole harmonica parts from midnight rambler by the rolling stones, if you admit it and don't apologize you're groovy

ReplyDeleteYou mean you miss the EARLY Aerosmith. This is a band that has survived because they evolved... like the Beatles, the Stones, Metallica and many others. If they kept putting out the same material they would have burned out quick. I listened to this album over and over in 1975... loved it! But I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing is a great song too. And the band plays on!

ReplyDeleteU may switch off overplayed Dream On, Black Dog & Purple Haze, but AS didn't play Round & Round in the 70s onward. It's a rare live song; they did at least 2 times in '09. So the guy's got a point. Problem is, half their audience now isn't into this heavy old AS stuff. Back in the 70s their audiences were male-dominated too. I can imagine young metal fans would like this this trance-like pounding.
