Our beautiful baby skunk

Our beautiful baby skunk - baby toys

Our beautiful baby skunk

We raised a litter of baby skunks in the summer of 2009. Nine skunks in all. Goober however was almost dead when we got him and nursed him back to health. He used the cat door to go outside and loved to play with toys and feet. He eventually joined his wild brothers and sisters and left for the wild three months ago. I imagine everyday that he is now happy and healthy and living free and wild like he was supposed to. We were so lucky to have him in our lives. I will miss him and I hope he decides to visit in the spring. I will always love Goober!

  19. Actually, domesticated animals are a bit more tame than their wild counterparts.

Also, domesticated (or pet) skunks are descented at a young age by their breeders. :)

  22. There is NO difference. This skunk was a WILD skunk, and the wild rats are no different from pet rats. They just don't have as good a quality of life, so they're more tatty looking.
